Aaliyah Omar

Aaliyah Omar
They say blue is the color of beauty
Dressed in a blue dress that adorns her looks
Seated in solitude at a corner in Starbucks
Beautiful, calm and composed
She turned around, and there I was
Glowering at her inexplicable beauty
With the smile of an Angel
As though she was waiting for me all her life
She looks at me with a curious gaze and says, “Hi”…

In a jiffy I looked tangled
Discombobulated, and
Flummoxed at the same time
Then she pulls me a seat next to her
Realizes that am staring at her exquisiteness in disbelief,
She asks; “Are you okay sir?”
Then I replied “Never been better”
Then stretches her lovely, and soft hand to shake mine
Without vacillate, I receive them…

I stood in awe of her beautiful eyes,
Angelic, and blameless smile that took my breath away
Her soft, free, and glamorous hair
Coca cola bottle shaped body,
And finally, her gentle voice…oh my!

I have seen the beauty of my nieces, the rainbow, shooting stars, and the setting sun
But am yet to see anything as beautiful as Aaliyah Omar…

MISS MY YESTER YEARS

MISS MY YESTER YEARS
I was young and free
With much freedom to pee
Anywhere I wanted
The world never judged my actions
They said am still a baby
Even when embraced by fear
Everyone cared when I shed a tear
I MISS MY YESTER YEARS

Then I became a teenager
Fell in love with turtle’s ninja
With Pumba’s philosophies
No sense of responsibilities
Fun was my reason for living
Everything I did was an adventure
No fighting against the force of nature
I MISS MY YESTER YEARS

College tiptoed into my life
Changed everything
Freedom of choice
Knowing that now I have a voice
But wait….I realize that am liable
That whatever I do has consequences
Oh I MISS MY YESTER YEARS
